1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using SafePing (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
SafePing is a family safety application that allows family members to send emergency check-in requests (“Pings”) to their family group. When a Ping is triggered, family members can share their location and confirm they are safe.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use SafePing. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App. By using SafePing, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Account and Family Groups
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and phone number. Each user may belong to one family group at a time. Family group administrators can invite or remove members and manage group settings. You agree not to share invite codes with individuals outside your intended family group.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use SafePing only for its intended purpose of family safety communication. You must not:
- Use the App to track individuals without their knowledge or consent
- Send Pings for non-emergency or harassing purposes
- Attempt to access other users’ data or accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
6. Location Data
SafePing collects location data only when you actively respond to a Ping or grant location permissions. Location data is shared only with members of your family group during an active Ping session. We do not continuously track your location. See our Privacy Policy for more details on how location data is handled.
7. Notifications
SafePing uses push notifications to alert you of incoming Pings. Timely delivery of notifications depends on your device settings, network conditions, and operating system. We cannot guarantee immediate delivery of all notifications.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
SafePing is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that location data will be perfectly accurate. SafePing is not a substitute for emergency services. In case of a life-threatening emergency, always contact your local emergency services (e.g., 911, 112, 100).
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafePing and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on location data or notification delivery.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to SafePing at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and leaving your family group.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes through the App.
